On February 14,2018 Nikolas Cruz opened fire at his previous high school Marjory Douglas High School. Nikolas attended this high school only a year prior. While Cruz opened fire on the school the school officer, Scot Peterson, stood by and did nothing. Peterson who had more than thirty years of experience stood outside and did nothing while seventeen people died. I recieved this information from the article i have linked below. While talking about this shooting in my Criminalistics class which is taught my Professor Sherwin, who also has much experience as he worked for the Chicago Police Department before he began teaching. Sherwin said that he would have went into the building without hesitation. Sherwin said that he has much more experience than a nineteen-year-old and that by not going into the building Peterson allowed more people to die than should have if he would have went inside. I agree with the statements that Sherwin makes because if Peterson would have gone into the school less people could have been injured or killed.

The Hunting Ground Summary
The Hunting Ground is a documentary directed by Kirby Dick that exposes universities for covering up and ignoring sexual assault reports. Kirby talks to many different women from different universities all around the United States, these women share their stories of University administrators covering up their report and making sure it stays off the records. It is said in the documentary that university administrators first job is is to protect the school and it is shown in the documentary thats exactly what they do.
Comparing Two Universities Sexual Assault Information
Lewis University Sexual Misconduct Policy for Students
Looking at the University of North Carolina website(linked below)it was completely different then the Lewis University it is very short and only really tells you where to go in order to report. This was surprising to me because of how often people report that UNC did nothing when they reported sexual assault. Comparing these two universities shows how much they really care about their students knowing the process about reporting sexual assault and what will happen after they report.
